This is WHAT I REALLY FEEL ABOUT BEING A POTTERHEAD

Standard

So here I am writing this in my room, feeling so sad and furious at the same time.

Well, this is about People’s Choice Award (PCA). Potterheads had been nominated in a category named movie fans, along with Ringers, Rum Runners, Tributes, and Twihards. I found it as an opportunity to show the world the Power of Potterheads and how we still unite eventhough the last book was published 6 years ago and it was nearly 2 years after the last movie. So I voted for Potterheads in PCA’s website AND in twitter.

Why in twitter? Yeah, I guess this was their new way. Voting from twitter could be count if you wrote this for example like this: Potterheads #moviefans #peopleschoice.

So mostly voting was closed in mid-Desember, but the fan polling, including movie fans. I did understand that I spammed timeline on twitter EVERYDAY to vote for Potterheads, to retweet almost every vote people wrote. I DID THAT FOR MY FANDOM.

I read on twitter and realized there were MANY people voted for Potterheads. Yeah, and there were many too who voted for Twihards, but I still believe that Potterheads would win. Many people thought SO.

I admitted that I DON’T LIKE Twilight, but when I voted, I tried not to say a bad thing about it and just voted for my fandom. I don’t like Twilight but I think it is also important to RESPECT its fandom as we are all human beings, and I hope they’ll do the SAME.

So, the PCA started and everybody waited for the announcement of Movie Fans. Fanbases accounts said they would report the winner to the followers who couldn’t see PCA. I was one of those followers since I don’t live in the US.

When one of the fanbases tweeted that we lost, I was sure enough that it broke my heart!!! The winner is Twihards (!!!!!) and I just can’t believe this!!!! I mean, Potterheads are staying here for MORE THAN 10 years (maybe 15 years, rite?) and we’re NOT GOING ANYWHERE and we’re LOYAL, and we’re STILL IN LOVE with HARRY POTTER and doesn’t this prove that we are THE BEST?

I don’t like Twilight, yes. But at first, that was NOT my point. I just can’t believe: POTTERHEADS HAVE STAYED FOR THIS LONG AND THOSE FILTHY MUGGLES THINK WE DON’T DESERVE THIS? I just still have NO idea why muggle awards sometimes act like we don’t deserve some awards :/

But things got worse when I tried to read some people’s tweet about the movie fans in PCA and I found MANY Twihards said bad things about Potterheads and Harry Potter.

To make it clear, yes I’m not blind: I know some Potterheads and Twihards are sometimes doing fanwar. But I just don’t understand WHY THEY CAN BE SO MEAN. I mean, when we were voting, they mostly tweeted about how good looking the casts of their Twilight, how sexy, how hot, how sweet (with a lot of kissing photos) and something like THAT. But I’m sure: if someone said that they love Twilight just because the casts are pretty and hot and sexy and keep kissing and kissing and kissing, they’ll be angry, rite?

But, after winning the award, I read them tweeted and said that Potterheads are so bad and they said Harry Potter is so a childish story, for kids only, out of date, and doesn’t give any lesson for us. B*tch please, ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

So here I go explain to you, filthy muggles!

Harry Potter is NOT childish and not for kids only. Here’s the fact: We’ve GROWN UP WITH HARRY POTTER since we were kids until NOW and FOREVER and ALWAYS.

And Harry Potter is NOT out of date. Note this quote by J.K Rowling: No story lives unless someone wants to listen. The stories we love best do live in us forever. (!!!!)

And it makes us learn A LOT, you filthy muggles. You always mention that “we-have-to-protect-the-one-we-love” is the lesson you learned from your FAVORITE saga. Is that all? :/ We have A LOT in Harry Potter if you READ IT SMARTLY. Just because you’ve got the emotional range of a teaspoon, doesn’t mean we all have.

So now I wonder: how can you expect us for not hating you if in fact you make us angry?

This really drives me mad. I mean, I don’t like Twilight but I tried to not offend people who love it, yet they offend me (and Potterheads). I especially FEEL ANNOYED WHEN THEY SAY THAT HARRY POTTER DOESN’T EVEN HAVE A LESSON.

THAT’S SO CRUEL, YOU KNOW (!!!!!!) I’VE BEEN A POTTERHEAD SINCE I WAS 9 YEARS OLD AND I’M GOING TO BE 21 THIS YEAR AND I’VE GROWN UP WITH HARRY AND IT DOES GIVE ME THOUSANDS OF LESSONS FOR LIFE, FAMILY, LOVE, FRIENDSHIP, BRAVERY, LOYALTY, TRUST, NOT GIVING UP, AND MANY OTHERS.

I’M A POTTERHEAD AND I’M PROUD OF IT.

REMEMBER THAT.Image
